Do you think changes will be made mid-season?
Now Bernie admits there is a problem
Monday 5th April 2010
Bernie Ecclestone, the same man who called for calm in the wake of the Bahrain bore, has finally admitted that F1 has a problem.
Following Bahrain, which left drivers, teams and spectators crying for change, Ecclestone warned against a knee-jerk reaction.
Since then, the sport has witnessed two rather exciting races, thanks entirely to Mother Nature.
However, in both those entertaining events, when the track was dry, the cracks in Formula One started to show.
"Don't be fooled," he said. "We have been lucky with the rain.
"We have got to do something. For the first time the teams have realised that they have to do something about it. We don't need reverse grids, we just need more overtaking."
And in order to achieve that, Ecclestone believes the sport need to "make the front wing smaller" and "get rid of the double diffuser."

I think they should simply install a water cannon at every other corner.

The Safety car goes out mid-way in the race and dumps water on corners
I've been complaining about the big front wing since it came out. That was an exceedingly dumb idea from day one!
Smaller front wings is one part of the solution.
They should also allow limited underbody venturis to give the same level of downforce with less front and rear wing. Then the cars will be a ton more raceable.
The formula has been essentially broken ever since the flat-bottom rule came along (later changed to a stepped flat bottom). The less downforce from wings and the more downforce from underbody shaping, the BETTER the racing will be.

I still think they need to get rid of the tire requirments and the no refueling. Let the teams run whatever tire and fuel they want. Bring back testing to the lower 5 teams, making their cars better thoughout the season.
If my memory serves me correctly, has there ever been an F1 season with a lot of passing?
