Anybody have a guess on whether Acura will apply for Le Mans this year? Or are they going to do another year of testing/development in ALMS...

I don't think Acura is interested in staying with the LMP2 class forever so no sense in spending a big chunk of change to go over to France. If their jump up to LMP1 in 2009 is successful I would imagine that they would head over.

Interesting, that's the first I've heard about Acura wanting to get into LMP1. Sounds like a rather expensive way to develop the technology - I wouldn't expect a lot of LMP2 data to transfer over to LMP1? I'm .

When the presented the program to the public at the NY auto show in 06 they said that their overall goal was to step up to LMP1.

The ACO is very keen to re-establish the adage that LMP1 if for manufacturers and LMP2 for privateers. Acura fit into LMP1 rather than LMP2 so you should expect to see them in 2009 I'd imagine - subject to them getting an entry of course!
