Senna
Senna & Prost are both Legends in F1. but Senna is definitely my all time favourite.
Prost had 1 more championship than Senna, but Senna had ended his career prematurely.
the Prost, Senna battles were so amazing. those guys were really dedicated to the sport..
may Ayrton rest in peace.. he'll always be in our hearts

Alesi was a fantastic driver to watch. Really nice battles, exciting wet weather car control too. That fight with Mansell at Suzuka '94 was great stuff. And in the Tyrrell against Senna. He should have had more than that one win. Probably would have fought for the title if he had gone to Williams instead of Ferrari, I think an offer was on the table at the time. But running his Benetton out of gas in Oz (in '96 was it?) was unfathomable.
Re: Prost vs. Senna, I think Prost was probably the more precise, thoughtful driver. He would be the one to study for textbook race driving. Senna was more passionate, emotional, more feelsome, more natural(?). There were times when one made the other look completely stupid. Both are greats, but I was first and foremost a Senna fan, ever since I saw them battle each other on TV in the '80s.

what makes Senna also very special is how unbeatable he was in Qualifying... he keeps on beating his own laptime even when there's no one close to his laptime and sometimes gains 2 seconds lead over the second fastest driver!!

I was lucky to have seen Senna drive in person. He was special. I named my first son after him. I still get goose bumps seeing his videos of his car control.
I have set of his driving gloves from Spa and one of his helmets that my son will get as he gets older.
He was and will be the man.

Senna is the one sports personality that I wanted to see live and in person. Senna the Wizard - his car control was beyond what you could capture in a book of driving techniques; there were times that it just seemed like magic (this is not just me spouting hero-worship
I do believe that his peers first uttered those words of praise for his car craft.
I think of Prost as a more talented Mark Webber; always concerned about safety and never afraid of speaking out about it. One thing that set Senna apart from Prost is their differing opinions about driving in the rain. Prost was scared of it (rightfully so), and Senna embraced it. Senna was always looking for the limit of his car and he never considered his talent as a limitation; Prost drove more conservatively, and I think that's why people see Senna as a better driver. Two equally talented drivers with different perceptions of their own ability will perform likewise.
If Senna had survived his crash to race again I think he might have lost his edge to caution.

After the auction they re-played the movie Grand Prix at the theatre. I sat behind Phil Hill, Dan Gurney, James Gardner and they spent the entire time the movie played talking about the driving they did in the movie. Beyond F'en cool does not even begin to describe how lucky I was to sit there

Don't forget Juan Manuel Fangio. In my opinion, it's Senna, Fangio, Schumacher. Fangio was a 5 time world champion with 4 different manufacturers and came in 2nd in the world championship twice. He was 38 before he started racing in F1 and came back from a broken neck in an accident in 1952 to place 2nd in the world championship the following year...winning again in 1954. The guy absolute balls of steel and, in terms of winning percentage, was more dominant than any driver in history.
I got to see Fangio drive his car in the early 90's on TV...he had the thing sideways all over the place as he raced Nigel Mansell in a charity event in Australia. It was awesome. The guy was a magician but with time people are forgotten or blown off for not competing in more modern areas of their sport. Anyway, watching his old footage is fun if you have time to kill one day.
