From the Toyota Camp

Toyota upper management had some interesting meetings this week which has leaked down the line.

They are beginning to realize what I've been saying all along, having the factory located in Cologne Germany was a mistake. They need to be closer to F1 and that is England. Many quality employees do not want to live and work in Germany.

As a result of their "lack of results" they are deliberating purchasing the Williams team.

Yes, you heard me. It would be Toyota's biggest gamble yet. But at the rate they continue to dump money into F1, I think this may be their smartest move.

I think is is win win situation as Frank would have an $$ filled exit strategy as he's quite up there in age. This will allow him to go on racing in some "reduced advisor" role, and at the same time get financial security.

I don't think Toyota are leaving at the end of 2007 as a result of this news.

That would be interesting. Ralf S and Frank W would be reunited.

Hmm, that would mean only SCR would have Cosworth engines. And THREE teams with Toyota engines.

Toyota has the money, and as much as Frank really is a grumpy old cheap bastard, he has a wealth of F1 experience, and that may be just what Toyota needs...

This is exciting news aven though I'm not a Williams or Toyota fan.

I kinda like Williams being an independent, though. They are showing a lot of competitive promise this season and I think it would be great for them to show the big budget teams that it's not how much money you put into it, but the experience of the team and the talent of the drivers that can take you a long way.
