Do SR7s sits as high as SR4s or lower? OEM seat already sits high...

I have never sat in an SR4 inside of an S2000 so cannot 100% answer your question. I have seen them and they for sure look goofier than the SR-7, but I don’t know what base/sliders the ones I saw were on.

The top of the SR-7 headrest is BARELY above the factory roll hoops but I think the SR-7 is still slightly lower than the OE seats when mounted in a Recaro Japan base and slider.

Thanks, especially coming from someone with such a nice S. Yours is one of the cleanest out there for sure.

Thanks man. Hard to screw up a, essentially, stock car that never sees the road lol. ;)

A couple of updates to add.

A few weeks ago, I added to the interior:

- Spoon Momo Monte Carlo
- Works Bell Rapfix GTC
- Works Bell short hub
- Works Bell 20mm spacer
- Spoon shift knob

With these added the sense of occasion has been upped further. Even more important is that I can enter the car a lot more easily with the tilt hub. You definitely need one of these or a more traditional quick release with the RMS.

The only challenge is that the 20mm spacer (I had a 20, 15 and 10 lying around) is not quite enough to clear the gauge hood and fully tilt the wheel. This is annoying and means I’m not getting the full ease of entry benefit from the GTC.

To solve this I have a 25mm and 30mm spacer on order. Hopefully 5-10mm does not make a huge difference with how close the wheel feels as it’s about perfect with how I sit as is. If there’s too much compromise I may need to get a regular Rapfix which is less appealing to me than the GTC.With regards to the Spoon shift knob - underrated part for this car IMO. It’s nice and small, the right type of shape and the light weight works better with the S2000 vs. a heavyweight knob. Plus it’s reasonably priced for something from Spoon.

Also this weekend, I replaced the crazy quiet stock exhaust with something that still is more gentleman-spec — an HKS SSM. I decided early on that with the AP2 rear bumper I wanted to stay with a dual exhaust, and that I also wanted to keep the volume reasonable while cruising. I also wanted to keep the diameter 60mm to maximize lower end torque/response compared to a 70mm+ exhaust.
I was between the R1 Titan (Amuse) Euro dual, ASM dual and the HKS SSM. I ruled out the Amuse early since I’ve had a few and wanted to try something different. The ASM and HKS SSM are both cool because they use packing-less rear mufflers which gives them a unique, sort of hollow rasp on video and come with the promise of very little drone while not sounding too muted at WOT. I ended up going with the HKS because I really do not like the ASM tips, especially on an AP2 bumper, and it’s like essentially twice the price and that extra $$ was not worth it for me.

After unboxing the HKS, I’d say it probably gives away very little vs the ASM as well. Take a look but I was very happy.

When installing the exhaust I also paired it with an RF Yamamoto 60mm test pipe to replace my HFC test pipe. I did this because I anticipated I’d want the extra volume of the RFY test pipe. Installation was straightforward and the fit was solid. I think there may be a touch of adjustment needed to have the tips stick out the same distance from the bumper (it’s almost perfect now) but this fit was achieved with basically 0 fiddling.

Once I started up the car I was surprised….even with the test pipe this thing is quiet at low RPM. You can tell the car has an exhaust because there’s a slight boomy resonance when the car is idling high, but once it settles it’s almost exactly like OEM. The same goes for cruising, at ~70mph and anywhere in the 3k-3.5k range there is absolutely 0 drone. My 60mm and 70mm Amuse Euro S exhausts had noticeable drone with a test pipe and this exhaust has NONE. Honestly it was quite a bit quieter than I thought.Right off the bat I was a little worried since revving the car at a standstill sounded pretty raspy…not what I was looking for and I was already assuming the HFC would need to go back on. After driving it and listening to the exhaust with some proper load it is far better! It definitely wakes up at high RPM but is still very tolerable even with the test pipe. It has a distinct scream that is a good bit different than other exhausts out there that all start to blend together a little bit. I still need to see what it sounds like from outside the car but so far I am very happy with the sound quality and how the SSM ranges from almost silent to noticeable but not overbearing depending on how it is being driven.

Apparently the HKS SSM system is designed to be used all together. The header, their HFC, and the exhaust. I've never heard the complete set up together and I really want to know how it sounds.

Do it so I don't have to.

How did you narrow in on RF Yamamoto out of all the test pipes available?

My birthday is coming up, if an HKS header lands at my door I'll do the lord's work and throw it on for you bb

I wanted a 60mm test pipe, it has an extra bung on it in addition to the secondary O2 port, and I already had a package coming from Japan so I threw it in. Nothing that special honestly. It's nice but not as nice as a Toda test pipe. Was comparable in price to your average US options though.

I'm usually on the "an exhaust is more than a pipe" side of the fence, but for a test pipe you nailed it haha
