They might not fail after being spot welded but I am sure they still flex. The gusset plates are a Honda part sold buy Spoon. Friends with AP1s that "solved" this issue have still seen them fail and then they did the gusset plate. This is with very heavy track use though not autocross.

hope everyone had a good thanksgiving.

auto-x season has been going well in my03 aka the rookie season car. going to be selling my01 soon as i've decided to replace with a rhd version.

ended up getting a good deal from gotuning on the spoon gusset plates so have my friend install them when he has some free time. thanks again tommy.
had to machine my03 rotors due to some low speed rubbing. no bed in yet as it's been raining the past few days but big ups to my homie trav for the free resurfacing.

austin! i was actually thinking about going ap racing at some point (due to asm-ness ) and have been also contemplating a color change since my paint is getting pretty beat up at auto-x.
i think i am going to repaint (along with the asm doors), carbolift the hood paint (back to cf) and weld in diagonals to the mugen cage (due to cf doors).

a long time away but i feel like that will get my03 back to where it needs to be

I just came to this thread to ask if you got an Arrrgggghh because I saw you on CivicX. Congratulations. I'm jealous.
spur of the moment purchase or did you dwell on it a while??
I'm thinking of the same but I'd have to give up the S and I don't think I can do that. Even though I only autox it now. I want something I can drive all over and autox.
