My apologies once again to you and your son for jumping to conclusions earlier. You sound like a great father, and it's nice to see you've instilled good values in your son.
Growing up in Orange County I've known a lot of people that have had everything handed to them on a silver platter. One family I know bought their 16 year old son a new Mercedes C-class. He then proceeded to get drunk at a party, hit a parked car hard enough to total his car, and then fled the scene on foot. His parents bought him a new SUV within a week. Then there's always extreme examples like the aforementioned kid on Luxury4Play who got a $400,000 599 GTO for his 18th birthday and didn't really seem to care (link is here).
So, huge
to you for teaching your son the value of money. It's always cool to see someone overcome adversity and find success through hard work.
A side note: do you ever bring the F40 to Cars & Coffee in Irvine? I've never seen one in person and would LOVE to see it if you ever make it out.

Once my son gets his car back on the road, we will set up a time to bring both it and the F40 to C&C. I will have him post this up prior.
Thanks for all the comments, I will now leave this thread to stay on-topic about his car..

No apology needed at all. You are 100% correct about the privileged kids in OC. Its up to the parents to instill better values in them, 'cos kids will be kids.

I too was wondering the same thing about Cars & Coffee, given your location.
I would love to see the F40 in person.
lol some funny comments here, not everyone's a spoiled kid, it's easy to overlook the OP had excellent grades in school, meaning he's already at the top 10% of kids and being in the top 10% means a lot in terms of being responsible.
OP, you really are fortunate to have a strong background in terms of family and scholastics. I salute you kid!
oh btw, clean car, hope you get it back on the road asap.

Update:
Got the car back on Friday, did lots of driving and lots of cleaning over the weekend. I may be doing a photoshoot this week, but here's a few crappy iPhone pics. Bodyshop did a great job
