Does OP have DEI sponsorship?
DEI? I don't think I'm familiar.
They make heat protection products. I hear it is easy to get sponsorship from them and it will protect things from heat on track. They really like to support the fast HPDE drivers.

Are there any products from them in particular that you'd recommend looking into? Having some sponsorship for the upcoming season would definitely be nice, thanks for the info.

Chase, DEI has a lot of great products to help with heat. You should check out the site to see what you're looking for.

on my F20, I ran the header wrap and still kept the factory heat shields. I also wrapped my intake with the reflective tape.

Did you happen to log any data before/after you wrapped the intake and header? I've always been curious how much of a difference that actually makes on IAT's in real world conditions.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction though, it looks like they make some pretty useful stuff.

I didn't have are more heat soak issues after I wrapped the header. I also didn't have a header that wasn't wrapped on aem infinity.

And I agree with you on how people drive on the street with the Voltex race bumper, it must hurt to constantly scrape up a $3k bumper haha
I'm leaning towards white at the moment, but I'm going to look at some swatches today in person. Hopefully that helps with the indecisiveness

I'm building the car for VTEC Club and maybe some NASA TT down the line, I've just been doing HPDE to get seat time and get to know the car before I start racing. I don't feel ready to make that jump quite yet, so I'm just trying to get some experience while I finish up the car.

Also, I don't drive the car much on the street anymore other than to and from the track for the most part. So I'm not too worried about the splitter, although I might make a little skid plate for the lowest parts.

Nice updates on the car man!! I really love the Voltex front end especially with the splitter, but hopefully it doesn't get too messed up on the streets for you. About how much farther does it stick out versus your OEM setup??

Thats a lot of points for nasa TT man. Good luck with the setup dude, I'm sure that splitter will be killer on track.

Thanks man, I'm really excited for the new look once it's all wrapped up. I already rarely drive it on the street but I'll have to be extra careful on the way to the track from now on. I'd say it sticks out 6" farther than OEM if I had to guess, but it's also ~1" off the ground so even mild inclines are off limits.

Yeah if I ever get into the NASA stuff I'll have to make some changes to the car depending on what class I'd decide to run in. But I don't see that being for a while, I'm going to see if I have any success in VTEC Club and go from there.

Yes, I'm aware. However I don't have the luxury of a trailer/support truck to stick a splitter in on the way to the track, so I'll have to make due with leaving it on the car for the drive out.

For the price of that splitter you could have bought a truck and rent a U haul trailer each day for $50. You would probably go faster with that purchase as well.

All that aero will be fine in the TT4/TT3 classes. You should just add a turbo or supercharger and run in TT3 with me.

I could still do that as well, only problem being I don't have a spot to park a third vehicle at home. Maybe I could buy a beater truck and park it at my storage facility or something, I'll figure something out. I'm going to try driving it out to ACS this weekend to see how things go, we'll see.

I would love to. Going FI has been the dream with this build since day one, I just want to see how competitive I am in the NA classes first for a season.

Hey, which material from DEI did you use to wrap your header? I just got an acceptance email back from them about a sponsorship, so thanks for the suggestion Tut.
