Silver/red right here in beautiful NorCal. Registration lapsed last October. Any weird DMV stuff over that? Sounds like I never bought a car before but I haven't when it had no current registration. I do not know if the guy has it on a non-op, better ask eh??

October? Why would be my first question, I can't think of a good reason and it sounds.....odd.

Odd is not the word. Nice car, good price and I got all the ducks lined up (yay Credit Union) and called to take the seller a deposit. Suddenly I was inside the Looking Glass with Alice. Evidently it lapsed into non-op registration due to the owner feeling a strange guilt/impulse thing about buying the car too high, getting tickets, having other cars and not really wanting to sell. A bizarre exchange took place over responsibility for smog inspection ("I'll pay the thirty bucks, dammit"), then it was revealed there was a young cash buyer who was "thinking" about it and perhaps the price was going to rise before the CU could fund the loan. I am outta here on that one.

Close but no cigar. I am patient.

good call
if it sounds too good to be true it probably is - if it sounds to funky to be right - it surely is.
