Default bye and be well

hey folks,

it's been fun.
as of today i'm no longer an S2000 owner.
my girlfriend and i are moving up to ranch country in the eastern sierra. after much soul searching i was forced to accept that the S2000 is not and cannot be a rally car, and thus the dirt driveway and dirt roads of my new home coupled with the cold and snow make the S2000 an unrealistic toy.
so if you see a guy with a shaved head watching you drive by with tears in his eyes, feel some sympathy.

be well.

I wish you well with your new S2000 less journey. Don't worry you'll still have the privileged to say you owned one And don't forget the memories So what's going to be your new car?

no new car (even a WRX with full rally suspension and rally skidplates would struggle on these roads).
new truck.

DOH! No way Chris, you cant be serious !

Sorry to hear this, but moving from the City into the Sierra foothills is a thing that many of us can only be envious of too. Best of luck out there! If I get my butt kicked while driving up your way by a bald dude in a new truck, I'll know you still got your racing shoes on .

Dont be a stranger though, you can still troll the board and make snide remarks now and then...heck, you have alot more experience on the road with your Spa S2000 than most of the newbies do.

See you on the road...errr...dirt...uh...just see ya!

Sorry to hear that you're no longer an owner ... I'm sure you can get a "shotgun" S2K ride anytime you're in the area!

BTW, what kind of truck are you getting?

I guess it's time for me to put that steel cage in between the seats that I've been meaning to do for awhile ... in case he decides he wants to drive MY car.

got the V6 Toyota Tacoma TRD.

and (BTW) i have a set of Griot's Low Profile Ramps (with extension kit) that i obviously don't need anymore. they're like $55 from Griot's plus shipping. if you're willing to pick them up in the city i'll sell them for $25.

yeah ed, it was seriously sad to walk away from the S2K there in the lot. i'd guess i'll be hitting folks up for a seat now and then to satisfy the jones. but passenger... not my style (grin). and sadly it probably will be S2K owners in Vegas (i'm not moving to the foothills - i'm moving to REAL ranch country on the east side of the sierras down north of Death Valley).

Wow, that IS serious Ranch country. i'm envious nonetheless...not about the no-S2000 part though Someday I'll pick up and move to a less stressful pace, but for now...

If you feel up for it, come up for S2Kdays in June at Thunderhill, and you can have some seat time in my car. Since my wife is the events coordinator for S2K Days, I get the feeling that I wont be able to drive the entire two track days. But thats cool since part of this whole experience has been to get a chance to meet cool fellow owners (and former owners) You'll still have lots in common with the rest of the S2000 owners.
