Default Engine might be done.

Just noticed tonight after a drive that there is this loud knocking sound coming from my block.

Not sure what it is exactly yet, might be a spun bearing. The oil is fine and clean. We suspect the previous owner might not have done oil changes regularly..

My question is, how much roughly does it cost to get it rebuilt with labor, or used f20 with labor to put it in?

By the way, my engine is completely stock besides exhaust.

Thanks for all help!

Call N1 Concepts, let them know that Ben sent you over there for a engine swap. The motor will probably be in the $3500 range for a full swap. Labor will be discussed when you call in. LMK if you need the number!

I don't think you need a full swap...
when they do rip open your motor.. just upgrade little things..

It is gonna cost you a pretty penny, unless you plan on DIY (which you know most of us are willing to help) then you would be able to upgrade a shitload of crap~

Thanks guysss.

Honestly I have no clue how to rebuild an engine, not sure how I would go about diying this. I first need to find out what exactly is wrong, but yeah hopefully i won't have to do a full swap. But I'm down if anyone is willing to check it out.

It's funny cause I always check my oil during fillups and my car never burns oil. So I don't THINK it was cause of oil starvation. Not sure what could have caused this, it didn't show any symptoms or anything. I guess shit just happens every now and then.

bummer dude.

There have been some motors for sale in market place. Might be cheaper to pick up a lightly used one. Depends on your issue of course.

If you need an extra set of hands to help, PM me.

Update: So I finally brought the car in to get checked out, and he told me my car only had 2.5 quarts of oil in it.

Which means my car is burning hellllllllla oil, and my dipstick isn't reading correctly, because it's been showing full. If that's the case then i can see why my engine crapped itself. I'm currently running non synthetic amsoil, and last oil change was about 3k ago.

There were also metal shavings in the oil, so he's going to open it up and see what the extent of the damage is.

The only ways your dipstick can show full and the engine has only 2.5 quarts in it is;

A. You can't reading the dipstick correctly.
B. The engine has way more then 2.5 quarts in it.
