Heard this from my parents and thought it was kind or f***'d up. Viet man gets hanged for drug trafficking in Singapore. Could've gave the guy at least life sentence or something.

some would prefer death over a life sentence. also for such such crimes the types of punishment available is typically not secretive. If you know you could possibly be hanged, why would you traffic drugs?

The answer to that may be that capitol punishment does not serve as an effective deterrent...

Thats why Singapores crime rate is much lower than the US. Its like almost zero tolerance there.

In other foreign countries like China, there is no such thing as a 3 strikes and your out rule. Its one time and your f**ked!

Hey man, I feel sorry for the guy's family, but you've gotta be pretty stupid to KNOW you're gonna die if you get caught and still do it. I mean they caned that kid from the US years ago when he go caught graffiting there. You think they're gonna let an Aussie go? I mean it's like, hmmm, I'm sure I'm gonna get electrocuted if I stick this fork in the wall socket, but what the hey, I'm gonna do it anyways.
