I just wanted everyone to know that a Black Boxster S (loser) tried to take me on 280 today near Page Mill. Traffic was moderate, and I dropped it down to 3rd and took off. I was able to weave much better than the Porsche. I beat him to the 85 exit. I love this car. The guy gave me the finger as i exited, knowing that I "kicked" his ass.

I was torn a few months ago when I purchased the stook. I was looking at a Boxster S, but decided the stook was a better call. I definately made the right decision.

I would like to hear of other "freeway races".

Dan

Boxter S is hard to beat - you must be doing some sweet maneuvering to take him.

I looked at the S, but that is a lot of $$$, I think the stook was definitely the way to go. Almost a disposable car, in some ways. A toy that can be treated as such!

I didn't have a problem like that, but I was hammering down 84 a few weeks ago, trying to beat some damn cyclists who never give up enough road, and although the surface was dry there was some fog out. I came across one of the hairpins near where the construction was going on about 5 years ago, and the back end totally broke. I fought it but was so far in the other lane that I nearly went off the other side of the hill. As I'm fighting the car to keep control, those bikes were coming up almost alongside me - they were so lucky they didn't get taken out, but I think they realized it was in their interest to stay clear. THANKFULLY I regained control, with no one coming up at that time, so tragedy was avoided.

The bikes kept their distance from that point on, though.

Now I'm a little more careful in the mountain driving, but haven't had the chance to hammer on the freeways yet - no one will take me on!

one night i was driving the gf home at 2am on 680N just past 101 when i saw two pairs of headlights coming up behind me. oh boy some racers to whoop!

i let them come up alongside me, and right as they passed i downshifted. one of them was a civic, the other was a saturn. gawd. within a heartbeat i was pacing them at 90 and passing them in triple digits. i went into 6th at 115 thinking they'd had enough. sure enough i saw the saturn slowly speeding up trying to catch up so i went back to fifth and kept climbing until my passenger mentioned that i was moving with a bit too much haste for her taste. great to have a girl that doesn't complain until you're well into triple digits!! mind you the top was down

Hey man, if you dont like someone's post ignore it, no need to insult people on a forum. Its guys like you who have nothing better to do, and no one to pick on in real life that feel the need to express their manly aggressions on a forum. Its the guys like you, on this forum that insult people for posting stuff that seems to be the morons to me.

It seems to me that you occasionally post about your same exploits. Weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed is not something to come here to brag about. I know that your feelings have been hurt because others weren't as impressed as you about your "kills". There is no need to defend someone for doing something that most would consider stupid.
What would you say to this fellow if your family was killed by his screwing aroud in traffic,,,, "Nice Kill Dude?"

We all drive fast, and probably in places where we shouldn't, but don't come here and expect us to be impressed by "weaving in and out of traffic" while racing another fool.
And no,,, I don't just hang around trying to "express my manly aggressions" (where did you get that one?).
I would just like to remind 'razors edge' that WE all have family that drive on those roads. Including you!
You guys aren't a couple of 17 year olds are you? If so, that would explain it.
Freddie

ok guys lighten up. both of you. we're all here to have fun, not criticize each other. in the famous words of my mother "if you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all"

i'll have no flame wars in my forum. if anyone wants to get pissy go do it on your own time.

back to your regularly scheduled program....

After lurking around this place for the past few months, I've so far been impressed by the lack of ppl engaging (or at least posting) in street races that for the most part were unsafe.

After reading this though, I couldn't stay quiet any longer. I have to side with Freddy on this one. I'll admit, I've done some freeway races in the past (never lost) but they all took place when there was no traffic, and hence no "weaving" involved.

Dan, if you raced the guy with no traffic, then I wouldn't have much of a problem with this, but you said you were weaving in and out of traffic ("I was able to weave much better than the Porsche"), and this just proves that you were willing to put more at risk than the other guy. This had nothing to do with the car with the exception that it gave you confidence in doing these acts. Undoubtedly, the Porsche driver gave you the finger because he felt the actions you did to get ahead (or stay ahead) of him were unjustifiable and unsafe. It had nothing to do with the cars you guys were driving. I'm sure if you accidently cut off an innocent person and caused them to loose control, you would feel much different about this whole thing.

So if you guys are going to street race (hey, almost everyone does it, even me a few times) then lets try to do it safely such that no innocent ppl get harmed.

Thanks,
Chris

PS - I got the finger once for just passing someone on a freeway onramp so maybe everything Dan did was safe and the Porsche guy just had a bug up his...

Guys-

I think the problem here is the name calling ie MORON.

Fred I don't think anyone has a problem with you having an opinion about racing and expressing it but calling the guy names is taking it a little to far.

Just say I'm sorry and everything will be OK

See you out on I-40/75......By the way I'll be the Spa Yellow one weaving in and out of traffic.
