i was on the stock RE050's. tread was low. you could still see the grooves , but very faintly on the inside of the tire due to the camber. i thought they would still be okay, but it's not so i'm gonna order some tires probably from tirerack tonight or tomorrow.
i spun out alot on stock tires too when it was low rubber, like 30%- less i said but. i glad i changed...i did spun out on 9's. freeway 680, n off ramp. sorry to hear.

Sorry to hear about that, but you seem pretty lucky. I hear a lot of stories spinning and ending up against a pole or flipped (scary...)...

I'm not sure this applies to hydroplaning (does it?) but I'm in the market for an s2000 and it would be my first RWD car..:

Is the consensus that if the rear starts to break loose you DON'T take your foot off the accelerator BUT instead give it more gas??

dang sorry to hear that. im surprised to hear that the vsc couldn't save. it sounds like a relatively low speed accident. glad you are ok though. bumper can be replaced.

NOOOO don't give it more gas. it just happened at that moment when i let my foot off the gas but im sure it would have happened regardless. if anything i should have let my foot off the gas sooner. and don't be deterred in purchasing an s2000. it's a great car. i should have just changed my tires sooner. don't let em get too low especially on your running wheels and it's always a good idea to take another car out in the rain if possible.

thanks. i do however need to replace my exhaust now too because it was pushed in and my rear bumper impact beam was bent in a little bit. i could leave the beam alone for now until i can afford it since the damage to it wasn't too bad.
