Yeah, I was riding my bicycle on the path around Lake Merced going counter-clockwise (facing the flow of traffic) when someone threw an egg from a car. The closing speeds meant the egg hit me with some velocity. Luckily all it did was cause a mess!

Also I'm glad they got me and not my wife, she was riding behind me. I was hella pissed at the time although I guess it must've been funny for others to see me covered in egg. At least it wasn't rotten egg. And no, I wasn't able to even see who did it. It happened so fast, by the time I realized what had happened they were long gone.

Thanks for letting me vent. Now in the light of morning it doesn't seem so bad, but I could see how if they hit someone in the eye or face, they could easily cause the person to fall into the path of a car.

 

wtf.... i'll be more careful when I ride from now on. you should wear a full face helmet and glasses just to be safe!

About 15-16 yrs ago while driving through Oakland, a rock hit my passenger side door hard. Some punk kids were throwing rocks at cars and when I stopped they bolted. I'm just thankful it didn't go through the open window and hit my then GF and now wife.

Random acts of idiocy drive me nuts.
