speedometer is off/lagging. vtec isnt engaging at the right rpm. any ideas? timing issue?

 

Hm.. VTEC isn't engaging at the right RPM?
What RPM does it engage at?

 

spark plugs misfiring?
oil pressure/level low?

any CEL on?

 

you didn't install a vafc or anything else have you?

 

kicks in at like 8k in first. second gear wont go pass 7.5k rpm. no CEL

 

car is essentially all stock. havent had the time to do anything to it yet

 

i hope this isn't when the car's cold

 

car was fully warmed up. i started to notice lag in my speedometer 2 days ago. i usually dont vtec my car cuz im driving around sf locally alot and i was curious to see if the lag would affect the engaging point of vtec.

Get it checked.

 

check ur ur TDC plug near fire wall, oil, spark plug of course, PM Its2krazy!

Top Dead center valve or plug.. if its off it wont let u rev to max rpm.
