Default Hit a deer tonight..

The car is 10 days old.. I was driving on Sand Hill from Palo Alto to the 280, overtake someone and as I get to the brow of the hill see a deer have no where at all to go except over it (braked but no room to stop before the deer and I have a car on my right and curb on the left so I cant swerve).. Luckily it was a smallish one (but as wide as the car) .. Had been hit by someone else moments before.. Very unpleasant. Loud scraping noise.. Pulled into a parking lot and have broken the bumper and ripped most of the protective material off under the car which is hanging down.. Also broken the cheap plastic grill parts.. Put it back together as best I can and the car feels fine.. Pulling to the right a tad I think.. Took a look when I got back with a flashlight and its not a pretty site under the car..

Taking it to Anderson Honda in Palo Alto where I got it from.

Can anyone recommend a good Honda repair place in the Bay Area?

Thanks..

Not Anderson Go A little further south in Sunnyvale on El Camino called Larry Hopkins Honda, Speak to Gary Costa or Jerry. (Service advisers) and have Jay or Sharky come out and take a look.

If you go, tell them Bill sent you, I purchased my S2K at Anderson Honda; I will never go back there again.

Good luck

I second NorCalS2k's suggestion. Anderson Sucks for customer service. And worst of all they will send the car to Carlson Body Shop, the building right behind them, to have the body work done. Carlson sucks too. I took my VW in there, that I bought next door at Carlson VW,Porsche, Audi and they did a terrible job on the car, didn't do it right. I had to bring it back to have something fixed that they forgot to do, and in the process they broke my grill!! And didn't tell me!!! I had to bring it back AGAIN and confront them, they only fixed it AGAIN because it was blatenly obvious that they did it, there was their body putty holding it on where they broke the clips!

Now if that doesn't deter you from going there. I don't know what will. Take it to Larry Hopkins in Sunnyvale. They kick ass! Jay and Sharky are the best techs I've every dealt with. The whole team is great because their Service Manager George is an awsome guy.

Thanks! Its alway great to hear recommendations.

The sales person I dealt with at Anderson was excellent by the way. But they changed the badges for the black ones for me before I picked it up and managed to scratch the paint nicely when removing the old ones! They are fixing his next week.

Thanks I check out the dealer you recommended.

I had a REALLY close call yesterday evening. Was driving home on the backroads and this deer ran out when I was literally 6 feet from it, I swerved and I guess it's nose clipped my rear left fender, not even hard enough to leave a mark... lucky for both of us.

Paranoid,
I had body work and paint done by Eric @ Master's autobody in Daly City (650) 997 3535. He is very slow, but also very meticulous- uses only HMC original stuff, replaces even badges, pins etc. takes everthing apart for repaint. Anyway, check him out.

sorry about the hit.

I hit a deer in much the same fashion, here in Atlanta GA.
I was going 70.
Took out the radiator and the AC.
Cost $3500 to fix.

Good Luck!
