Default Need Help

My buddy recently wrecked his ap1 and is currently sitting at the shop. He said that i could take his soft top with glass window as long as I swap it off with my soft top with the plastic. Is there anyone who is willing to help me swap both tops?

I will pay $50 for anyone who can help me with this. The car shop is located in Milpitas. Im aiming for Sunday but anytime next week will work as well.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

yeah i've read that it's like 10-13 hours of labor just swapping the softtops.

you should ask your friend if you can have his softtop motors. that will save you half the labor.

yes, ask your friend for the softtop motors AND FRAMES. the motors and frames are already rigged to the softtop, so all you would have to do is bolt it onto your car. It's significantly less labor, all you would have to do is take out your entire frame/motor, and bolt the new one in.

Still takes several hours, but easier to do. You can find the instructions by searching the forums. I'd help ya out if i knew how to do it. Gluck.

He said I could take the frame and motor as well.

Since its not as easy as i thought, im willing to pay $100 if someone can switch the tops. Ill leave this up until tomorrow. If no one is up for it then ill just wait and save up for a hardtop.

Thanks guys

i've done it with some friends and honestly it's a pain in the a$$.

I gutted my top and put my top in another s2k. Taking it off isn't too bad but putting it all back together is a pain.

We split the job in two days and it took us probably around 10-13hrs total.

good luck though. It's well worth it in the end.
