Are you looking to get a new cover for the top, like from Robbins, or get a complete assembly and drop it in?

I know mr. Stitch in San Mateo does it. You can order the top and hardware and bring it to him. His normal rate is about 75. But he's pretty understanding, you could probably talk him down.

nice, i actually have a few holes and patches they don't really work. some of the rips are in the bending areas when you drop the top. it gets larger and larger. i should probably stop going top down. (can't help it, its summer) but yeah, how much you think it would cost to repair each rip/hole? i have about 3 3 to 4 inch holes/rips and 2 1 inch holes/rips.

also, just wondering if its common to have rips, i don't know why Honda designed it that way, i seen a few older Miatas with better looking tops then mine bmw z4 seems to last long too. not sure why it rips. thanks in advance.

Just got my top reinforced by him today... Awesome guy... great pricing also... really hooked it up... I told him the forums recommended him and he was pretty happy with the positive reviews, he ended up dropping the price down!!...

he really helps you out if you are in deep with money issues or if the problem is big or small... i asked him about softtop replacements and he quoted about $800 labor..

It's been quite a while since I posted on these forums.

My 14 years old OEM top is showing it's age, and the plastic window is all fogged up and cracking. So it is time to replace the top. I am in the South Bay area, and a local shop quoted me the following:
After-market vinyl top with glass window (no defroster) $950 (cloth top would cost $100 more)
Replacement straps $50
Labor to replace top $900
Total with vinyl top is $1900

Does that sound reasonable? Any other referrals to shops in the South Bay that will do the "plastic-to-glass" softtop replacements?

Beware when your doing the plastic to glass swap... Supposedly the frame is different on the plastic ones and there are reports of people randomly shattering their glass window when bringing the top up and down....

I got a glass frame for sale if your interested... Not trying to sell u anything but that's just what I've read and heard

Go to Soft Tops http://m.yelp.com/biz/soft-tops-san-Jose quote for labor is around $500 and you can bring him your own top which you can buy onlne for around $500. Also got a quote from miatatopworks in marine for $1100 parts plus labor. $1900 is way too high.
