Default We won't make it to the Bay area for a while

My wife of 35 years was hit by a left hand turing car(Wednesday) that did not see her(same old story).

10 broken ribs(all on the right side), lacerated liver, small bleed on the brain and some other things I can't think of right now. Oh and a collapsed lung, got the lung working and they had to put in a chest tube to get the fluid out(I can't believe how much blood and other fluid keeps comming out).

I can't ask her to stop riding and then I go out and ride my bike. She would worry the whole time I'm gone on the bike, I can't do that to her. I've been on two wheels since 1963 but I'll have no trouble giving up riding for her peace of mind.

Getting that phone call was the worst thing I've ever gotten. Don't know what happened or even where it happened(just know the street). After 35 years of marriage this is going to be the longest either of us have slept in separate beds, she will be in the hospital for 4 to 7 days(ICU), if all goes well. So to all my Friends on here who ride, please, please ride safe. You don't want one of your loved ones to get one of those phone calls, man it's tough, because you can't do or say anything to help or change the outcome. Wear all the gear(she's alive because of her gear).

I'll say one more thing, it's damn hard to type with your eyes filled with tears. Good thing we have spellcheck.

ROD
p.s. when she gets better, we'll come to the Friday meet.

Damn sorry to hear this, I wish her a speedy recovery man.

I know what it's like to get hit while riding and it's no joke at all and this is coming from somebody who was able to get up and walk away.

Rod,

I dont know you, but I am very sorry to hear about what happened. I cant imagine how much pain both of you are going through. I wish her a full recovery. I dont really know how I can be any help, but if there's anything I can do for you two, I'll do it. You will get through this!

Good luck!!!
