I had my windshield done at Kuttek / KW over the weekend. I made an appointment on Tuesday and drove to the shop on Saturday. There was a delay, apparently because they were waiting for the rubber molding to be delivered. I don't know why they didn't have it ready. The molding they used is not the OE molding, although the price they paid for it is about the same as the Honda OE molding from www.hondaautomotiveparts.com. It is a lot thicker and a little harder, and distorts in the upper corners. The inner edge is wavy in a couple of places too. They installed the wiper arms crooked.

I decided to take the time and drive up to San Leandro to get these guys to work on my windshield because this thread made it sound like these guys did high quality work and used great materials. It's great that they were so cheap and used good glass, but the quality of the installation and the molding was not close to being worth the drive. Next time I will find somewhere closer and bring the Honda molding with me.
I even was recommending KW from the original group buy that people had such great results from... and I didn't even get one installed. And when it came time for me to have it done... not only did I pay almost $100 more than group buy price... but that molding is a joke. They even installed it crooked on my car. The molding stops above the hood line on the driver side about an inch, but goes below hood line on the passenger side. I suppose I should just be thankful that it doesn't leak.

It's a shame the quality of their work has gone downhill.

PPG makes excellent glass and is a great alternative to OEM. $670 is over 3.5 times KW group buy price and 3 times what I paid! Safelite better put wet tshirt tata's on the glass for that price!

I was with RWD_RCKT when he got his glass replaced. I was not impressed by the finish on his car...we all know how particular the token can be, but I have to agree with him.

I am currently setting up a new group buy for auto-glass replacement through a company we have used in the past located in Hayward.

There will be a for-cost option for OEM molding if you guys want it. This will be at a cost pricing of $28. The glass will be PPG.

The dates will be on an upcoming Saturday and Sunday so it will be convenient for you all.

Pricing will be as follows:
$150 PPG glass with aftermarket molding
$178 PPG glass with OEM honda molding

Labor is lifetime guaranteed. If there are issues, I have been assured they will make it right.

Regards,
Asura

Please post if you need your glass replaced, and I will start making appointments so we don't have to sit around and wait all day
