Prayers Needed.....
My father had to go to Portland, Oregon for his last chemotherapy treatment on the 26th of February. We knew he would be ill a little longer after this treatment, but things have gotten really bad. His lungs are having to be drained of fluid, constantly and I found out this morning that they are going to have to put him on dialysis for his kidneys. My mom expects to be there for atleast another month. When I asked her this morning if she thought my dad would be coming home, she said it would be a miracle. I am not yet ready to say good bye to my dad, so we are gonna continue to fight for him. You are a great friend network and my family really needs your prayer help. My dad is only 59 years old, it can't possibly be his time. Please put us in your prayers. Thanks guys....XOXOX, Kath.
My prayers are for you and your family.
Please consider him and his feelings in all of these things. You may not be ready for him to go, but if he gets to the point of living less than what he considers life please follow his wishes.
Even though it's tough, you should make sure you know his exact wishes to the detail regarding breathing tubes, ventilators, cardioversion, and how long he wishes to have these, if at all, etc. It's quite complex and the more you are educated the better you can help your father. Medical science is a great thing, but sometimes things go to far for the wrong reasons and people forget that there is a person involved in all of it.

thanks for all of the well wishes...he's not quite that far along...he's not knocking on death's door, but he's really sick. I guess you don't stay in ICU for no reason. I think he will eventually pull out of it, but he has a loong road. And, yes, my mom and I do know his last wishes and would never hold onto him for selfish reasons. I just meant that my heart is not ready, but my mind will know better when the time comes. Agin, thanks for the wishes and prayers.
K-As I said in my PM, I wish your father and your family the best of luck. It is very hard for the family to go through a family crisis, and it is always nice to know you have true friends to be there to help if needed for anything. Our club sure has shown how they can come together to help anyone in need.
