Default swapping the diff

Hi all, Been hearing alot of talk about swapping the rear diff in the S.Everything from CT reinforced to celica 79-81 or 300zx (kit 3k not including diff) pretty pricey but supposed to handle 1000 hp. Anyone do the diff swap? Running SC and miss dropping the clutch once in awhile Any thoughts? Thanks all.

Where did the celica diff come from? 79-81 is a solid axle assembly? Not sure how that would fit under the S.

You can always try puddymod diff. So far it's held up to all the abuses thrown at it.

from what i've read, the puddy mod is one of the strongest routes w/o swapping to a 3z diff.

Thanks Castro,I'm reading the same thing.Nothing 100% bullit proof.Go with a ford 9 inch diff and the breaking point becomes something more expensive than an axle (tranny), not to mention u kill the handling.Puddymod seems to be the wise choice. The next best piece of info I've read is having the correct fluids.Guess I'll see how long the stocker will hold up and go from there Thanks guys

PM s2kpuddydad

Read the FI forums about the puddy diff. I saw someone was putting down ~6-700WHP and it was holding... on a drag car

Sweet I was thinking that 12lbs of boost might be a little much but I drove the car again last night and it's such a joy to drive even after I spun the stock clutch. The torque is huge, every time u touch the throttle u get 4lbs boost and 10lbs without even going into vtec.Yep, i think 12lbs is just right Especially if u don't have to worry about the diff. Thanks SOHCmyDOHC
