Default Check Engine Light

I randomely got a check engine light just now. Its definately not time for an oil change and i was wondering if anybody in 626 area had the OBDII scan tool thingy. If you do it would be greatly appreciated if you helped me out. Thanks.

************EDIT*********

i got 2 codes. First is P1456 "Auxillary Emission Control" and i scrolled to the second one which said the same thing but it had a P over a D in the right hand corner. what does this mean??

Did you just pump gas? A loose gas cap will throw a CEL.

Sounds like it has something to do with the emissions systems so it should have no bearing on performance. You are probably just polluting the atmosphere. Like BC said it could be an air pump that failed, I think it could be a sensor also. good luck with fixing the problem, the hardest part ids always finding what the problem is.
