Default NEED HELP

here is a story.... i was involved in an accident with somebody a month ago
this guy rear ended me and pushed my car to hit the car in front of me....

anyhow.,.... he was taxi driver and his company didnt wanna make claim....
so he said he would write me a check after i get estimates....

but i got my car fixed with my own money mean time...cuz i didnt wanan see my car all jacked up.... now this guy complains that the estimate i got is too much and dont wanna pay.... so now he would rather make a insurance claim..

what should i do?????
if they do make insurance claim.... adjuster will come out and look at my car and there is no damage.... anyone here with helpful knowledge please help...
and is there anyway that i can get more estimats from the bodyshop just telling the description of damage(all they had to do was repaiting) ? since my car is repaired now there is no evidence of damage...... please help

did you take photos after the accident?

if you feel the bill is fair and they give you a hard time then you call your own insurance company and make a claim under your own policy with them. in turn, they will have to subrogate (go after the cab's insurer) after you've been paid. you'll just have to be out of the deductible until they recover the money for you. remember, if it's not your fault they can't penalize your own insurance rates.

good luck.

not fair at all. what a jerk. I would keep requesting that he pay you, and get it over with, Tell him you already fixed the damage, because you had to get the car ready for an event that you could not miss, and if the Insurace company comes out now they will see no more damages.

without photos is harder but not impossible. the insurance adjuster can get a sworn statement from your mechanic where they state a description of your damages and when you brought the car in.
