Default Is this normal?

Hey guys.

So I did my trany fluid change and rear diff oil change a few weeks ago and right after that I started to notice that it feels harder to shift into gears... Before I did the change, the shifting felt a lot smoother than now. Moreover, it's been already two times that when I shift into 4th, the stick doesn't want to go in all the way and then the trany kicks me out of gear

I used Honda Manual Fluid for the trany and Mobil-1 for the rear diff.

Is this normal? Is it going to get better? Should I be worried?

Changing the trans fluid should make it smoother, or if anything stay the same. The question is how much fluid did you use, and was the car leveled when you did the change.

^ Correct.

The next question is did you use the new honda MTF or the old stuff? The old stuff was terrible BTW.

I typically overfill the transmission just a tad on purpose.

I filled it while the car was level yes. I filled it until it leaked from the filling whole. Now, I'm not sure if I used the new or the old fluid from Honda. How can I find that out? I still have the bottles at home. The trany took in around 1 quart and 3/4

It should have a green label on the front of the bottle. But if you recently bought it from the dealership it should be good. You got Honda MTF right and not Automatic?

The amount of fluid sounds about right...but if anything I would just do the fluid change over just to be sure. If you got the proper fluids, car was level, then there should be no change in shifting feel.

I think this might be the problem

I made sure to buy the right fluid so no doubt there

I'll see if it takes more fluid in and make sure that it hasn't been leeking then....

Thanks for your replies, at least now I know it's not normal.

It's not a low oil situation I don't think.
