Windshield crack repair

I got a small circular crack on my windshield and i heard that you can get some professional repair with silicone for around $100 that can pretty much fix it. Anyone got any feed back on this?

took it to a local windshield repair shop and he injected some kind of resin into the crack.. it was about a 50% improvement.

I hear that most insurance company covers that with no deductible....might want to check your yours.

You can buy a windshield repair kit at most auto stores, very inexpensive. It may not completely cover up the cracks, but they definitely won't grow any bigger.

I used one on my first S. The crack almost disappeared and I didn't have to replace the windshield for another 3 years or so.

so you're basically injecting some sort of silicone base material that fills in the crack and does it get messy? saw this same exact product at pepboys so if it works well I'll give it a shot

No, it isn't too messy. Once it dries you just shave off the excess with a razor blade. It is very watery and clear so it does run a bit, but it is very easy to scrape off when dry.
