Default $2500 car?

If you only had 2500bucks, what would you buy? My choices are: 84' 944, 83-84GTI, 83-85 Volvo turbo.

My choice would be the CRX Si. They are super fun, handles great, and unlimited performance possibilities. I still believe Honda should be building these!

CRX si.

I paid more than that for mine but it was a one owner car with low miles.

You might be able to pick up a 87-88 VW Scirocco 16v for around that. I also like the CRX vote.

Early nineties Miata. I have seen a few on Ebay go for around $2500.

CRX si, good choice. I used to have an 89 a long time ago, and I still think about it!

I would opt for the GTI. Great cars, run forever and are pretty peppy all things considered. I doubt you will find a good 16V for that price, but the 8Vs aren't all that bad either.
