I am not here as a troll, but as a car enthusiast looking for information. At the local car meets, there is a 00' S2K that claims to only have a cold air intake. I drive a 350Z with air intake. When we race, he pulls on me hard and puts like 2 cars on me. i know that these cars are equally matched and is a drivers race but I believe he has something that he isnt saying he has. Are there any chips or things not noticable that he could have for 20-3- extra whp? Thanks.

 

Without going FI, 20+ whp is going to take a LOT of work on an S2K.

 

Maybe he has changed the rear gears.

 

Not much without FI, except gears. There is a video of a stock s2000 vs one with 4.56 gears. I hope it's legit b/c that vid sold a lot of gears. The S2000 with gears pulls about half a car length in the first second then just walks away.

 

What about VTEC controllers?

Gears? Anything else you would of noticed, unless hes a damn good driver, and like people said before it takes ALOT to add 20+ hp on the S

 

I have a 01 s2k with an intake. My father has a 04 350Z stock. My s2k is quicker, but not by much. I enjoy driving both.

 

it really does sound like gears. a re-geared S2K will probably walk away from a Z continuously.

 

Is is hood latch stuck in the closed position? If not, you could always just ask to check out his setup.
