Hi Putney,

Interesting choice for a 1st bike, but then why not I learnt to ride a bike about a year ago and bought a CBR600F shortly after. I considered the 600RR but I thought...well If I go straight for that then I won't have anything to "upgrade" to when I have the skill to make the most of it. I was talking to a guy with a 600RR at the dealers when I had my first service and he said it was taller geared than the standard 600F so the power band was higher up the rev range, had a harder seat and was a smidgeon taller!

From reading the reviews it sound like Honda have upped the midrange on it and made it even better for 2005.

As for runnning in, it will be in your manual but IIRC keep beow 6,000 RPM for 600 miles.

I'll think of you when I have my bike on its centre stand to oil the chain

I think it will be ok as a first bike especially as i have to take it easy to run it in. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. I also really like the new ninja 636. really miss having a car its been snowing. seen quite a few new s2000 about!

Exactly. They're only as fast as you want them to be. At least thats what I said to my parents when they handed me a blank will form.

I haven't exactly enjoyed wiping snow off my visor with one hand with my other hand on the throttle!, but filtering down the middle of a queue of 100 cars is a good feeling

It took me 20 minutes to travel 11 miles to work. A guy who travelled 6 miles in his car took 1.5 hours today due to snow.

Look forward to seeing the pics

Went down to the honda garage to pay for the bike yesterday. I had a little sit on one agian in the show room. Really excited now. I also got a little sit in a Blue NSX which was unlocked! It's looking a little long in the tooth now but I still think it is an awesome car. There were lots of S2000 there. I think they are expecting good sales this spring.
