Although 20,000 RPM is pretty cool, that thing sounds just like my Ryobi table router I have in my garage.

The Ryobi rev's to 25K and it only cost me $99.00 Ryobi

I love the link to Ryobi at the end....you know, cause someone might say "Aw, f-it, I don't need an F1 car, I'm buying a table router."

So, in theory, I'm at redline in 5th and I accidentally pull 4th, my mechanical over-rev is, say, 27000 rpm. Will my warranty claim be denied?

Probably, if its obvious that you floated the valves that badly, they will know its definitely not from bouncing off the rev limiter.

I believe you actually can't float valves by bouncing off the rev limiter. I'm not an owner though and I don't know all the specifics of the warranty.

seriously that is crazy...

I've heard that F1 is experimenting with the theory of using magnetic cams and lifters to push the rpms even further
