Default 2002 R1 36K Miles

2002 Yamaha R1 silver color... Looks in good condition, says runs great but has 36K miles. Is the mileage anything to be concerned about so long as it has been taken care of?

I'm not new to riding but I am new to bike maintenance. I've always had a warranty and or service plan that kept me covered. But sense my last GSXR was stolen which I took a big hit on I'm looking to get back on 2 wheels but can only afford used.

Thanks all.

35K miles is to high, set your cutoff at 15K
$5K is to expensive
fyi: a new r1 is $11K

i you are still interested get a compression ck and a dyno run

even at 15Kmiles you will have higher than expected maintenance

Yamaha's are well known for their low maintenance motors. They're pretty bullet proof...dare I say they're better than the motors in the CBRs.

$5600 isn't too bad as long as that bike is absolutely pristine. Absolutely NO aftermarket crap either. The second you see aftermarket get an immediate $1000 deduction.

you can get a great bike with half the miles for 5500. i'd pass this up IMHO or give him 3500 for it.
