2004 Lotus Elise S2
2004 Lotus Elise S2. We are proud to announce our appointment as an authorized Lotus dealer for lower CT. We are now accepting orders for the "NEW" U.S. specification Lotus Elise S2. This ground-breaking, totally exhilarating sports car will be available in May of 2004. Pictured here is a pre-production prototype that will closely resemble the U.S. street-legal version. It will be powered by a four-cyl. 1.8-liter engine that will produce upwards of 190 HP. That is enough power to propel this under 1900 lb. true sports car to 60 MPH in under 4.9 seconds and have an estimated top speed of approximately 145MPH. The Elise S2 is the car that Road and Track magazine named "The Best Handling Car IN THE WORLD" earlier this year. Lotus USA plans on importing only 2,500 of this highly sought after vehicle. Don't wait until there are none available. Order yours today. The estimated MSRP will be around $39,000.00. Far and away the best sports car for the money on the planet. Please contact Mark Starr @ 914 939-7200 for additional information.

Lotus is reworking the engine, so I doubt that anyone is going to have trouble keeping this 1800-something pound car in a decent power band. Redline is going to be up from the stock 2ZZ-GE and the weight will be less than a Celica - and what is wrong with you people that can't keep the rpms in the VVT region? I've driven the GTS extensively. As with all similar sports cars you must keep the revs up if you want to have fun.
That is just like the S2000.... not much below 6000rpm...but lots of fun above.
Still not sure the car woudl be worth $39k ? That is a fair amount of corn for such a tiny car.
