2009 Camaro

Trust me, I think these are horrible photochops but its an interesting take on it. Almost all of the "spy pics" and projections I have seen have all been heading towards the same basic design layout.
They built two different halfs here and slapped them together.
They've been talking about bringing the Camaro back, rumors that is, in 2007. With the increase in HP for the C6 and z06, I can see it happening but with the old numbers and maybe the LS1.
I used to work for Chevy and the Camaro got phased out because it was running the same engine and the same power (not rated but dyno'd the same) as the Corvette and sales for the Corvette dropped because of it.

People on other sites are claiming that is the next Camaro. However, it looks photoshopped to me. It looks like the front bumper is two different bumpers that have been put together down the middle. Maybe I am just seeing it wrong.
Offensive looking. Blech. That car is way too "unique" looking to actually make production. And if it did they would tone it down so much that those that like this picture will find the end product boring.
Why does all american iron have to look like american iron? I like the corvette, but I find cars from the 60's and 70's stupid looking. The Solstice and Sky look fresh, why start chasing after the butch Dodge designs and do something original?

I highly doubt they robbed sales from the corvette -- two completely different cars with very different audiences at very different price points.

whatever....
It's a nice reinterpretation of a 60s camaro with some contemporary Chevy styling cues integrated into it and it doesn't look like a Photoshop retouch job to me either but by the time GM gets this one on the road the new Mustang will have been around for about 3 or 4 years already which means that there's a good chance the retro thing will have become quite stale even before this new Camaro is released.
About 400 hp would be nice and all but even with alot of power under the hood, and decent handling, I don't see this amounting to much more than a very nicely done 'me too' car.
Plus, if you aren't a total style junkie, you can have 80-90% of this car's performance right now in the form of the current GTO (Monaro).
