Default 2010 LOREMO

testing in the buff.

Low Resistance Mobile

Loremo, which stands for "low resistance mobile," combines an efficient diesel engine with low weight and minimal drag to get upwards of 150 mpg.
The idea is deceptively simple. Forget about fancy batteries, regenerative braking, and alternative fuels. Instead, make a car that's elegant in its minimalism and efficiency. The Loremo's German designers revisited the basics

haha...I agree. I would buy it in a hearbeat though. Especially if it would break 100mpg! Good Lord. That sure is telling the oil companies to SUCK IT. Perhaps black and some tasteful wheels. I hate to say it but from the side its Cayman-esqe.

I guess when a car is this efficient some would want it to be a bit polarizing. I'd drive this over a Prius.

I think it looks fine, for what it is. 150 mpg is amazing! Great concept, great price. This should be a runaway success. Makes the Smart look really stupid with around 4x the efficiency. Wonder if they will offer other/more useful body styles (which would probably be somewhat less efficient)?

As an aside, if I weigh more than 180 lbs, does that mean my 2 ton vehicle is totally reasonable?

I would buy one in a heartbeat. It is the ideal commuter car for 2 people and light luggage.

If it was a four-seater, I'd find it somewhat interesting. To me, it makes sense only if you do a lot of highway driving (low drag, very fuel efficient) and/or commute long distances. I wouldn't want to do a lot of merging on freeways with this car, that's for sure... 0-rear end collision in 13 seconds.
