Default 2016 Camaro: drive thoughts?

There aren't many cars on the market that pull much interest for me, but the new Camaro is one. The reviews of the chassis and powertrain are pretty impressive. Have any of you driven one yet? I sat in one at a dealership and at the NYIAS. Squishier seats I figure if I want to try something else in ~5 years, it might likely be a V6 Camaro with RS.

Not my thing at all. The platform is supposed to be great, but if I wanted to drive that platform I'd buy some variant of the ATS. It is a personal taste thing, I just don't like the style of it. Too cartoony and never been a muscle car guy. If I went that route, I just like the looks and proportions of the Mustang far better, even if it is a some degree slower. And if I just wanted the powertrain I'd get the Vette. But I don't have kids so the back seat is not an issue.

I had the last gen as a rental and visibility is not good. The new model is supposed to be similar in that respect. It does get rave reviews though.

Performance of the new one is supposed to be great! I just don't like the looks of it and the visibility is supposed to be just as bad as the previous model which was horrible. I will probably take one for a spin soon to see how it drives.
I went with a 16 Mustang GT over this as I just like the looks so much more and really enjoy the high revving engine.

Personally, I think the Mustang has the Camaro beat in the total experience.

The new Camaro is awesome for sure. When I read the new 335hp (I think?) V6 was similar in character to the E46 M3 engine with more torque, that was impressive. The chassis and handling dynamics are supposed to be top notch too. Besides some minor visibility issues, if you like the styling of the new Camaro, go for it. I think it's great personally and it wipes the floor with the new Mustang, besides the GT350. The new ZL1 will wipe that car up and that isn't even the Z28 version.

Ford always seems to be playing catch up (except when GM doesn't have a model to compete) with GM from a performance standpoint. That said, they are close enough o make arguing about it fun and a matter of personal preference.

At least the S2000 has good forward visibility. With the top down it has great visability all the way around!

I can't stand how dungeony the Camaro feels.
