OOOh exciting! The lame designs of Toyota with the horrible reliability of a BMW.

I gotta be honest, I like the way the FT-1 looks.

Also it's a pretty kickass car to drive in Gran Turismo 6. Thus, you just know it'll be cool IRL :surprised:

The last supra was about 1/2-2/3 the price of a 911. This will probably compete against the 911 price wise. So I really don't care too much about this car, and it better be a GTR beater if it's in that realm.

Everything I've read has said it's price point is $45-50k :ponder:

That car is going cost 20k more than an frs and 20k less than an rcf?

That's pretty much my thinking as well. When I first heard of this marriage I thought it'd be BMW styling meets Toyota reliability. Though completely subjective, I think the consensus is Toyota styling leaves much to be desired. This colaboration seemed like a no brainer. I'm amazed it went exactly towards the weaknesses of both companies.

Yeah, I'm not the least bit enthused that the drivetrain is going to be by BMW.

Seriously...biggest car company in the world, and they can't even develop their own sports car. What does that say about Toyota?

There last somewhat performance motor of the 2000's, the Celica GTS/ Lotus Elise motor uses a Yamaha head, lol. And we think it's bad in Honda land.

I am surprised so many people here do not like the styling. I think if it goes into production it would be the best looking car on the road. If it has an M3 engine I see no reason to be disappointed considering that same motor propels a fairly heavy M3 down the straights as fast or faster than the new Vette.

Many people have come to enjoy "toyota reliability". A BMW engine in a toyota car doesn't have "toyota reliability". I don't understand the sense in people buying a frs/brz for "Toyota reliability". It will be the same with the new supra.

I see tons of new BMW's on the road, don't hear many owners complaining about reliability with them. I honestly believe that in part a reason that Toyota's are more reliable is that their owners are people that typically do not drive their cars aggressively and always do the scheduled maintenance.

Realistically the only good engine Toyota makes from a performance stand point is the V8 in the RCF, that would also be bad ass but maybe they have reasons for not using it? Too wide?
