Default 2023 Escalade-V

I want one and am #2 at my local dealer where I got my Blackwing, but the price is $20-30k more than I was expecting. Anyway, hope my dealer comes through as I bet it's going to be a beast of a super SUV.

That’s way more than I’d expect to pay for a Tahoe with a Caddy badge. I don’t care what engine is in it, $150k is just dumb.

The Caddy trim is a huge downgrade IMO too. But I despise this "lets see how big we can make the grill" thing that is going on with trucks anyways. I have never been a fan of any Caddy truck stuff. And yes, that price is crazy too.

If I want a high performance Caddy it would be the CTS-V, which I do have want for lol.

I detest CUV’s and SUV’s with gusto but that thing is a beast. 6200 pounds, 150 thousand? It’s all gone Pete Tong.

I was waiting on this from you!

Have I mentioned I'm available for adoption? I'm the best behaved 30 something year old you've ever met!

What's the fastest way to end up rolling over?
Put 680hp in an absolutely massive, ill-handling SUV.

Need to put that drivetrain in a Cruze.

I agree with the above sentiment - 680 hp in a 6,000 train just doesn't sound fun nor useful. At a certain point, I think its better to have full luxury and give up trying to add performance too, since the vehicle just can't really utilize it and it means compromises elsewhere, like ride quality.

This is l why I like what Lincoln is doing, and same with Genesis; full focus on luxury and luxury ride, and the results speak for themselves.

This.

The psychotic infatuation with large SUVs and trucks is a runaway train with no brakes. The prices were already getting out of control before the chip shortage, and now the prices are completely insane. $150K? Mind-blowing absurd for any SUV.

I knew the response wouldn't be positive. Obviously a 6,200lb 682+hp SUV is kind of a 180 degree off from an S2000 board ethos. But, it's what people want and Cadillac is finally delivering it. I will say, the magnetic/air suspension set-up will probably give it great compliance and actually decent handling (for a huge yacht). Add in the 16+ inch rotors and it'll likely stop okay too (thank goodness!).

Look, Range Rover, Mercedes, and BMW have been doing big hp SUV's for a long time now. It's just Cadillac jumping into the game (at the 11th hour before electrics take over) to make a bada** SUV and get a few bucks (really, a lot of bucks) off existing components before vehicles like this go the way of the dinosaur.
