Default IS 300

Anyone have any experience driving a Lexus IS 300 in the snow? Does it handle it decently for a rwd car?

Also, how is the gas mileage for one of these cars?

It will handle like any other rear wheel drive car with summer tires.

Gas mileage is mediocre at best. 18-23ish

RWD is fine if you equip it with proper tires.

Got 26mpg driving the speed limit this past weekend in the g/f's IS300 on the highway over a 700 mile trip. Not bad, but the car is geared pretty aggressively for a 3.0L inline six. It's spinning about 2800rpm at 65mph, which seems a tad high for such a torquey motor.

1) It handles like crap in snow with the OEM summer tires.
2) We avg. 21 mpg in mixed driving. Longer road trips (AZ and back) where avg. speeds have probably been 70+ mph has improved mileage to 26.

We love our IS but gas mileage isn't one of its strong suits. Frankly, the BMW 3.0L straight six is more powerful, quicker, and gets better mileage. But I guess that's part of the reason for the huge price premium.
