350z build quailty?!

350z build quailty?!
not 30 min ago my buddy who loves the 350z saved up his $ and bought one. he brings it over to my house to show me and take me for a ride and all that new car jazz. its a 04 black(nice color) 6mt track version. its lower with "nismo" springs and other than that its bone stock. now i dont hate the 350z, its alright car. IMO its got a big butt and its interior looks like the starship enterprise.
so we head out on our test drive....i live in washington so its raining right now(this will make sense in a sec). so hes jumping on it and all that and saying "i dont know man, i think this will destroy the s", i laughed and indulge , he did just buy the car after all. so long story short he lets me drive it....wow....unimpressed. i get in the car shut the driver door and the window falls in the door. i didnt slam it?!?!?!? not 5 min later the gauges go dead. 2 min later the a/c knob breaks, it just spins and nothing happens. needless to say he just left to go back to the dealership.....
is this typical, i hope not or it should be called the VW 350z!

Well, Nissan interiors are known for being cheap and the transmission has had problems, but other than that, I haven't heard many 350z quality complaints. My friend has an 03 Track Edition that has been very reliable and solid, save for an alternator belt shredding issue. Sounds like an anomoly to me.

Not sure, have not driven a Z, but talk about "put the crack pipe down..." the Z doesn't really destroy the S. Why do people think an overweight car (some might say) with a bit more power would destroy a S? I mean did your friend ever drive a C5 Z06? (I'm sure not).
Tell your friend to drive a C5 Z06 then drive a Z to see how the TQ of the Z stands up.

i think hes just, or was, really excited to have a "fast" car. hell hes been with me when ive raced z's. up to 90 its me ahead by 1-2 cars! after that, v6 just drives by.
