####, that's nothing. I once saw a limited edition Yugo for $3,789!!! And that's without tax and tags. Can you believe that?

that article doesnt say much about the accord.

but i know you can option out the mini cooper to alot. I priced one to $35k which is more than an s2000. People pay it. Just like people pay nearly 50k for the 350z vert touring blah blah optioned out.

but apparently just because "ITS A HONDA" it cant be optioned out or be more expensive than the normal model. Yet we here on s2ki will put $1400 intakes and $3000 wheels, $5000 hardtops on our cars like its nothing. hyprocrates.

In 2000 I went to my local Honda dealer to check out the new S2000. They told me they would only be getting3 of them that year and were accepting offers starting at $40k. In January 2002 I walked into another Honda dealer and purchased a new S2000 for $28,000.00.

Yawn. If anyone buys an Accord with $250 mudflaps, a $150 car cover, and $2500 OEM wheels, they deserve the screwing they get. Does anyone REALLY buy EVERY dealer installed option? The top of the line ACTUAL Accord is $30k. End of story.

5k mugen hardtop,
3500 for rims with tires
3k for seats
3k coilover
2k bbk
1500 intake
1500 header
1500 exhaust
1500 cf hood
1500 for new front
1k cf trunk
1k roll bar
500 rear spoiler
500 cf mirror

27,000 mods + 35,000 car = $62,000

Hardly any faster than stock.

Our new 2008 Honda Accord Coupe, EX-VL (no nav and auto tranny) was $28k and change. Unbelievable how expensive an "Accord" can come to now...

With NAVI...add another $2k and you're at $30k.

Is the Accord Coupe nice...absolutely...is it worth nearly $30k?? Um...

But comparably equipped, it's still a better value...

It's simply amazing how EXPENSIVE cars are nowadays...makes the S2000 such a value leader, you know??

I can't imagine buying anything (soon). Everything _I_ like is $60k+++!

To everyone that states that things cost more now, boo hoo. Maybe they cost MUCH more then they should, but the signs of a strong/growing economy is that of inflation, which would cause prices to go up. (Not ridiculous amounts mind you, but steady single digit percentages)

People that actually get the $3k rims from Honda are idiots and deserve to be hosed.

plus a lot of stuff is nice but not like you have to have like XM radio, Nav, ipod, bluetooth, heated seats etc..

For example My MDX comes base car with everything you could need, it has XM and heated seats and 6-disc and cruise control, auto tranny, and buetooth etc..

But you do have to pay extra for Nav (which is nice) and rear DVD and power tailgate (this should be standard but you don't need it), rear seat heaters etc..

The point is some people will say you're paying $38K for a MDX base why not add $4K in options about 10% of the cost to get the extra features. I admit it's not worth it since the resale value of the options is not great but if you enjoy them while you own the car that's fine.

A car like a S2000 does not have the options like a Boxster can so you won't see any S2000 with $6K in options from the factory that doesn't mean some people wouldn't like to have those options (like bluetooth or nav etc..)
