So I'm walking to work and see all these cops/marshals around for some kind of conference and I just happen to turn around and look at the back of this impala. I immediately notice a 5.0 interceptor badge. At first I just thought it was cool and snapped a quick pick to show a friend with a 2012 5.0.

I always feel uncomfortable taking pics of police stuff even though its legal.. I just don't want any hassle.. So I took the pic from a few feet away and I checked to make sure you could make out the badge when it hit me.. This is an Chevrolet impala with a ford flagship engine..


So did this guy just slap the badge on? A quick google search didnt bring anything up and wikipedia doesn't mention it..







If you save the image to your pc and zoom in you might be able to see it better.. I really wish I would have just got closer and taken it... Next time I guess.

 

It is probably just badged.

That's a Ford Mustang badge. I don't recall if GM made the Impala with an LS family motor but the Grand Prix, a sister car, did get a V8 though I don't know the displacement.

 

The 2006+ impala SS available to the public had a 5.3 LS4
