Highly doubt it. I'd assume the new GTR would run a similar time to the Porsche 997 turbo, which is about 7:40. No way is it a full 15 seconds faster than cars like the Carerra GT and Zonda.

7:50 sounds alot like 7:15.
NFW that GTR will do a 7:15, I bet it is in the 7:45-7:55 range when the actual numbers come out.

You know it would be kind of fitting if the GTR did become the fastest car on the Ring once again. The Old GTR held that title for many years, and it's not like it didn't exist amongst some high powered exotics as well.

Maybe this Nissan's got an ace up it's sleeve we don't know about?

I don't really believe that fast time, BUT if it is true then it really is a telling of the times...

I honestly think that any car pulling 7:15s is *__Ridiculously__* fast.

7:15 Ring Time, can it be done?

Not by a the GTR as it will comes out of the factory. Afterall, look at it this way, Carrera GT, is good 25% lighter, has 40% more power, and was on sticky (ie. R-spec tyres) when it set the tims around 7:30.

New 911TT is lighter and more powerfull and that just returned a time of 7:50 (on R-spec tyres).

If the GTR specs floating aorund are correct, then they shoujld be happy with a sub-8 min time.

The Old GTR held that title for many years, and it's not like it didn't exist amongst some high powered exotics as well.

It's funny how far false propaganda gets. Nissan did a really good marketing / brainwash job then.

Truth is that the old GTR, that 'held the title' was a ringer. There was an expose on that by a few pro drivers / magazines, but I guess the Nissan 'claim' has still stuck.

The GTR that Nissan used to set this record-braking time was a race-prepped GTR with slicks, a lot more power, and modified suspension (among other things). The production R32 GTR's (ie. as it came from the dealer) best time was somewhere around 8:35. That is a very good time, but long way off what Porsche GT3 was doing those days ie. 7:59.

w00w~ what an informed man. Was this a JGTC R32 or a secretly prepped sleeper car that Nissan tuned to fool peeps?
