Default 997S versus '05 S2000

Went on a 70 mile fun run with my '05 S2000 and my buddy brought his 911S to chase me around. Which do you like better?

You forgot to make it a poll.

Well, I'd pick the 911S. IMO it's the best car around........sure to get a fight from the Z06 or M5 camp.

However, I don't particularly like the wheels on the 997S, and for the money it could use more HP (see M5 or Z06 for example), but other than that it's a star.

Let's be honest the BS is all around better than the S2000 let alone the 911S.

Price dependent I picked the S2000

Rai, I know price independent the 911S is a no brainer. I didn't do a poll because it would be WAY lopsided in internet fantasy land.

The 911S is a gorgeous car. Just figured I'd share a few pics of two hot rides.

Oh, for those who keep score, the 911S didn't have ANY problem keeping up with me. He was having to shortshift to keep from ramming me during some straightaways on hard acceleration.

My buddy is 33, but he's done very well in sales for a global communication hardware company. So, I helped talk him into getting his dream car a bit earlier than most people. It's an '06 911S with sport exhaust, sport shifter, chrono pack, upgraded stereo package, and Nav. It's a very fun car to drive and defintely one of the best all-around cars on the planet.

Rai, he got the extended warranty and figured he'd hate leaving it in the garage and driving a 2nd vehicle, so he just threw all his car money into one car and plans to drive the wheels off it. He's had it for less than 6 months and already has a ton of miles on it.

2 of my friends/co-workers have 996s (one the turbo), both are in their 50s but they have a 2-3 other cars as well. My wife's friend has a 911 Cab, she's 40 and it's her only car.
