Advice...
Well after living with the car for 2 days now I must say that I love it. The interior quality and little details are fantastics. Car and driver got the 0to 60 time to 5.4 seconds and I believe it. It's very quick. I plan on getting intake, exhaust, coilovers, chip and rims. So far I think I made a great choice. But I have decided that I want to get a used s2k in the future as a project car. Thanks for everyones advise and help!
Congrats..........i suggest getting the HPA DSG reflash before any of those mods. The reviews have been great!!! Hopefully they can squeeze me in this Tues for mine.

I drove the R32 and really liked it, when I was looking there were crazy deals on the new ones, putting them in the $27,000 range new, I would expect the price of that car to be around $22-23, in today's economy, you (no pun intended) are in the drivers seat, do some more negotiating and you should be able to get there.
I really want an R32 because it's a compact package that is SOLID with a V6. But it's really not much quicker than a 2.0T GTI, and it lacks the ONE thing I want: 4 doors. Which is why I will likely get the GTI 2.0T. But at this point it will probably be the MkVI GTI unless something else steers me away in a couple years.
Congrats!! Did you end up getting the red? Just FYI: Tornado Red is the fastest color of the bunch.
I have about 20k miles with no issues so far. I've taken it on track a handful of times and despite the weight, it is still a blast. The DSG has its quirks but it really shines when driven aggressively. Once you dial out the understeer, the car becomes even more fun.
Enjoy!!!

R32s are fantastic cars.
I've had the DBP MkIV R32 for 2 1/2 years before it was totalled.
I gotta say it made me smile every time I drove her. As much as my S, if not more.
Now a friend of mine has an '08 DBP R32, and even though the exhaust is less agressive than the MkIV, the refinement in interior parts are astonishing.
What's the serial number of yours?
I ask because the first batch from Germany(1500 of em) had Summer tires where the later shipment had all seasons.
My friend's car has the all season and man, was it fun driving in the snow.
I miss my old R32.
Anyways, enjoy your TR R32. And I know you know the DBP is faster
Have fun!
