Any honda dealer can warranty a Honda part with a receipt for the part, purchased from a Honda dealer. If they say they can't then they are lying.

You don't have to remove the dash to replace a evaporator or expansion valve on a 92 Prelude. The passengers airbag has be removed, but not the dashboard.

If I was in your position, I'd ask why where you not informed that metal was in the system BEFORE they installed the new compressor and charged the system.

Why weren't you given the option to replace the evaporator and expansion valve then?

I'd also ask to see what Labor guide they are using to quote you for labor.

IMHO, You should only be responsible for the additional parts that were originally contaminated (expansion valve condenser, evaporator) and the dealer screw ups, such as not quoting you for the contaminated system and 2nd hosed compressor should be one them.

I'd want the suction and discharge hoses replaced as well, the rubber hoses can trap metal.

It sounds like your dealer sucks, and thats coming from a dealer tech.

I can guarantee they wont remove the entire dash to replace the expansion valve.
