I'd driven an MR2-S, and liked it a lot. Sure, it wasn't nearly as fast or stiff as the S2000, but it was fun nonetheless. Plus, it's pretty cute too! The headlights are ugly though. I'd pick it over a Miata.

I also drove one. Ride felt like the whole car was coming apart...

But it seemed to handle relatively well and power was decent when accelerating from stand still.

But I would see my arms get tired after a while due to the clunky nature of the car, jolting and shaking all over the place. A Miata (and especially the S2000) are firmer rides, and I think they're better cars overall.

There is no storage space in the MR2 and honestly, I don't like the looks... A Boxster rip off, and a Boxster is a much better ride (drove that one too).

toyota overpriced this car. they should price it well below the miata and watch their sales rise.

From an autocrossing point of view the Miata is a slightly better handling car and is more practical as a daily driver. On the other hand you don't see the MR2 S on every corner and they are a blast to drive. They are also fairly quick off the line. If my memory is correct in Pro-Solo's the MR2 S is often quicker to the 60 foot line than the S2000. Of course shortly after that the S2000 takes the lead and never looks back.

The way the top folds down on the MR2 S is also very neat and looks much better than the Miata's or S2000's. I wouldn't mind having one.

[quote name='kntrider' date='Feb 1 2005, 05:57 PM'] In the power department, aftermarket has turbos for it.
