Well, I'm like a kid in a candy shop. Last week I drove a turbo today I drove another friends 911 C4S.

It's a sweet ride, I guess I'd say it's the second best car I've ever driven after the turbo.

You know me, I have to pick nits. I hate the ignition placement on the left side of the wheel. It's whatever reason (racing bla, bla bla..). Like if they put the horn button on the roof (for example). Why? Every other car except saab has the key in the same place.

I don't like the shifter any better this time around, I actually started in 3rd gear way to look slick with my friends $90K car.

This car was just right, not too fast, not too slow. Maybe the engine is more linear and made it feel better. I loved the turbo, but when I was driving it, I always wanted to go too fast. The C4S I didn't feel bad just driving normal speed.

Overall (again) a wonderful car. Superb. 10 out of 10.

However... he paid $85K (discount from $92K), and it's probably worth every penny, but to me, that's $50K north of a S2000. It's the same as a S2000 and a M3.... Am I missing something? Would you take the C4S instead of a M3 + S2000 combo?

Probably not, but then most P-car owners already have other cars to play with -- a few of the Porsche owning folks here already have S2000's ....

You get used to it. I agree in principle, but to take that thought a step further why is there no standard interface for things like changing the seat position in all cars ...

According to a friend, the E55 is his dad's favorite car of all time over A LOT of exotics/high priced cars.

the E55 is that baddest car on the road IMO, not a track car but who cares. A porsche is cool if you want to shift, some people have to have stick. The e55 is fast fast fast, and pimp, get the carbon one. The s55 is cool too, but an older person feel to it.

Yes. We had one as a rental car in Spain, and it was absolutely superb.

A sedan will never perform like a 911 Carrera on a back-road no way.
I think The Mikkobishi Evo series and some Impreza models would almost definitely be faster. Depends on if it's a nice smooth agreeable dry road or a wet/snow/dirty/gravel/ice/damp akfpoajepfiheafpaehp.

The E55 AMG is big and quite heavy. It can perform some Grand Tourer type performance, and straight line. I wouldn't ever consider one for any 'toying' around. I really need to have full instant control over the transmission, too.
