Default Anyone driven a Lotus Elise?

Everytime I see them I drool. I wish I could take a test drive. Maybe I will go up to the Lotus place here and give it a try Just wondering if any of you have driven one and what it was like. 190hp with a 12.9 1/4mile That would have to be a fun car to drive

12.9 is pushing it, but I've ridden in one. It's the closest thing to a go-kart you can buy for the street. It's very, very small, but looks awesome!!

The one I rode in had the Stage II sport exhaust. Sounded like a sport bike at full throttle.

I spent about an hour driving one and I loved it. There are several people here who own or have owned them and I expect they'll chime in.

It is a fantastic car. The cars highlights are the steering response/feel and the handling. I have the sportspackage and the Stage 2 exhaust, and they heighten the experience. The acceleration is exceptional through the first 2 gears and solid afterwards. The Elise is superior to the S2000 (also own) in driving experience in almost every area (except gearbox and true droptop driving).

absolute blast to drive! Must less refined than the S, but a lot more performance, and more wow factor as well. It really is a go-kart on wheels. It's really easy to drive as well, shifts easily, clutch is smooth.

I test drove one back in June when I was shopping for a new car. I loved the car, but decided to get another s2k and a house instead

I do not regret my decision, but I can't wait for the day that I can put an Elise in the garage of my new house.

I agree with the comments above. The Elise is a FANTASTIC car. I ordered one, but bailed out and decided to keep my S. I may look for a used one once my S is paid off, though.

I drove one recently while shopping for a replacement for my '01 S, and LOVED it! It's clearly superior in performance and fun to drive. When it came time to part w/ my money, though, bang for buck and practical aspects led me to buy another S2000. (though I put in a LOT of Elise bids on EBay, and would have been happy had I been able to find the right deal).

I drove the last model of the Elise in England about 4 years ago, it was great, small car, great handling and very quick.

I have only driven a Motorsport Elise S1 and that was fantastic. I couldnt imagine doing a 1000 mile trip in one but I bet it would be a challenge.

I havent driven an S2 yet

How much does a stage 2 cost and do they come like that from the factory ?
