Anyone heard of the S1600?
I was at SF Japantown at a Japanese bookstore, and on the front of a magazine cover it says "exclusive scoop, Honda S1600"
I look inside and it had pictures; the car looks like a 350z covertible. From what little Japanese I can read, it is a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive car. 1.6 liter 3 stage VTEC, and supposed to be "very affordable."
The Japanese font was weird, but I think the magazine's name was "Za-muika" or "Za-maika" or something like that. The date of the mag was Feb 2006. Anyone know anything about this car?

If Honda really wants to make a staple in the American market as well as European they should make a Miata fighter.
They have tried two different ways so far. The S2000 which is too performance and too expensive compared to the miata, and the Del Sol which was just a civic with a fixed roof.
They should make two models, one with a civic engine and one with more hp and sportier. That's what toyota should have done with the MR but they goofed it all up.
